COVID-19 Update - Spring 2021
IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATES
Here at Gastroenterology Associates, we remain fully open and available to care for you. However, in order to provide safe care and follow guidelines from the Department of Health, CDC and national GI societies, we are making and continually adapting the way in which we deliver high quality care to you.
We are fully open with new protocols in place to care for you in person at our office, as well as at West River Endoscopy. We are also proud to offer you the convenience of in home, virtual visits (telemedicine).
We have instituted protocols that must be followed to ensure the safety of all patients and staff who enter the building. This includes temperature screening and a verbal questionnaire upon arrival to the office.
When arriving to our office, please remember to wear a cloth face covering or mask (if you do not have one, you will be provided one upon arrival) and to follow all posted signs and instructions. Please note that your cloth face covering should ideally be two layers of fabric, not a single layer neck gaiter/scarf, and should not have a one way valve.
As always, please stay home and call to reschedule your appointment if you have a fever (greater than 100.4 F), cough, shortness of breath, body aches, new onset diarrhea, loss of sense of taste/smell, or even a runny nose. Please also stay home if you have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID - 19 or have traveled in the last 14 days, or if you have been asked to self isolate or quarantine by the RIDOH.
Please respect social distancing recommendations by not giving hugs/handshakes, and remaining at least 6 feet from other patients, staff members and physicians.
Please make sure to allow extra time to accommodate all of the new safety measures at and our office and to follow all posted instructions carefully.
All of our physicians have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. We strongly recommend vaccination for all of our patients in accordance with the CDC guidelines, when you are eligible based on local and state protocols. This is especially important for patients with underlying chronic diseases such as liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. If you would like to discuss your specific questions regarding COVID-19 vaccination, please do not hesitate to schedule a visit (either in person or telemedicine) with us at Gastroenterology Associates.
